Minnesota Vikings Fantasy Implications

The Vikings look to have a high powered offense this season. After high expectations were let down during the 2018 season the Vikings fired Offensive Coordinator John Deflippo who ran a passing heavy offense. Kevin Stefanski was hired as the new OC and Gary Kubiak and company were brought in to establish a more run heavy offense for the 2019 season. Kevin Stefanski ran the ball over 100 rushing yards in all 3 games last season.

I think it is important to bring all of this up to be wary of Adam Theilen and Stefon Diggs this season.  Adam Theilen(WR), Stefon Diggs(WR), Kyle Rudolph(TE), Dalvin Cook(RB), and possibly Chad Beebe along with first and third round pick Irv Smith jr. and Alexander Mattison will all be competing for targets. As I have seen the WR duo going in the second round in some mock drafts I believe there is a substantial amount of risk to go along with the receivers here this season. The middle to late round 3 is where I feel the risk versus reward equal out.

As for the Running Back position, Dalvin Cook is primed for a monster year if he can stay healthy and with him falling to the top of the second round he will be a great value! The great news here is there seems to be a clear backup that you can handcuff late in your draft if Cook is to go down this season with, yet again, another injury and that is rookie RB Alexander Mattison. Mattison has looked good in camp and is getting great compliments from coaches and teammates. The only worry here is the hype is pushing his ADP up into the 10th round but I feel it is a price you must pay if you take the shot on Cook in late round 1 or early round 2.
